Congratulations, Sleeper Z!
Your outstanding '87 Z28 is TGO's April, 2018 Car of the Month.
It seems simple, but seems like it gets the job done. Great looking car that looks fun to drive.
Btw, it looks like you need two (2) center caps.
My car is a 1987 Z28 born pretty normal but I turned it into what it was meant to be. My Z came stock with the following:
Cerebrated 305, World class T5, 323 limited slip diff, PW, PL, A/C, P Hatch,
Black & Gold with a Black interior. The only option which stood out for this car was the F-41 suspension upgrade.
It is now a different monster supporting the following Upgrades.
Gen 1 350 Lt1 4bolt main with an underrated estimated 370 HP from the builder.
2" Dual to 3" Flowmaster Exhaust
G92 3:45 posi rear end rebuilt with disc brakes
QA1 struts and shocks, QA1 LCA's and QA1 adjustable Pan Hard Bar
Eibach pro kit Lowering springs and Founders Caster camber plates.
16" restored IROC rims c/w Gforce Comp II 245/50/r16 all around.
Custom audio and video.
I have always loved the 3rd Gen and built it for my pleasure not for resale or market value. My Z is awesome to drive especially keeping the stock look while at the same time shocking those who come up beside me. Gone are the days of the ****** but the 3rd Gen is much alive in all of us.
I'm honored and very grateful to be voted as April 2018 COTM. To have the recognition of all the hard work that went into this car makes it worth while. The support and info I got from TGO was crucial throughout this build. It is a blast to drive, nothing like cruising on a warm summers night burning a bit of rubber. LOL.
And funny thing about those center caps. I ordered a set from Classic Industries when I had the wheels done. Was on the phone with them a few times to confirm sizes and such but to my luck when I received them they were for the later style rims for an 88 or 89 Iroc wheel so instead of spending more money to send them back and trying to get new ones, I just had custom ones made and in gold. They are in the last pic of the voting thread. Attention to detail is a must.
Thanks guys!
It's gotta sound as good inside as it does out and that's damn good! I'm dying to get it out of hibernation. It's been a long winter and I'm still waiting for the street sweepers to get things done. A couple weeks more yet.
Thanks guys. I'm trying to be patient with pulling it out of the shop. Still waiting on the streets to be cleaned then I get to get the detailing done. Thanks punzak9 for your nomination.
