HO manifold spacer?
So I got some 87 TPI exhaust manifolds. I'm told it takes a spacer or donut deal to mate it to the y-pipe, I plan to use the magnaflow y-pipe
. My question is I bought a spacer supposedely" for this on ebay and was wondering if anyone could tell me is this the correct piece?

Re: HO manifold spacer?
Hmmm...learn something new every day. I thought the extra think donut spacer was only used on the carb L69 manifolds, and not the efi ones. Or are they the same manifold?

Re: HO manifold spacer?
L69 and TPI manifolds are the same except for 91-92 Automatic TPI 305 manifolds which are the smaller type like L03 and LG4 from what ive gathered. Ive also heard theres a spacer in between the manifold and y-pipe on these HO or "better" manifolds and that's what I'm trying to get together.

Re: HO manifold spacer?
the carb'd exhaust uses an EFE valve there that closes to direct that side's exhaust gases through intake manifold passages to help warm up.
the TPI cars use a spacer-the manifolds and y are the same pieces. that is not the spacer that I have run across, but I can't say that it is not maybe correct for some years, etc.
I'd try it and see, looks maybe to be the right thickness.

Re: HO manifold spacer?
That donut was not the correct one. I now have the correct one on the way thanks to beths91camaro. Thanks

Re: HO manifold spacer?
Thanks John. Hope its the right one I have.. The first spacer I bought seems to be the smaller diameter for TBI or LG\4 style weenie exhausts.
