I dont think it will be in houston for a while, next year I think it is going back to Austin, Then maybe in 2015 it will be in Houston... Mark?

We had this same problem last year with all the guys up north alot of them did not want to attend because it was to far... I say we show them how its done in Houston and make the drive !FTW! LOL

nope, gonna play with it some tonight. pretty much have a new build planned out, gotta save some $$$ first it's not gonna be cheap

Whats going on with the round-up this yr? Only 30 days away & only a handfull of guys from houston commited to going?

Nobody from San Antonio,Dallas or Austin planning on this? Surrounding areas?

there are a bunch on the facebook page of the roundup. I don't think a lot of people from here are going to make it since it is a long trip. heck its 245 miles from my house down south.

 

I'll go again this year, went last year and didn't stay long at all. Dad rode with me and by the time we made it down there his back was killing him. This is a lot closer to home, so I'm down. Not sure what I'll be driving yet though.

 

250 miles is not worth driving to see maybe 5 cars

there are going to be a bunch of people from the dallas area. just not very many people from here seem to be wanting to make the trip or they believe their car wont make it. on the roundup facebook page there are a lot of people that say they are going.

 

I think it will be a minimum 30 cars. Last I heard one of the regular monthly dallas meets got 30 members.

We are probably looking at about 35-45 cars. Last yr we had about 32. Yr before that I think it was 40+.

 

I haven't been able to make it since 2010!!!! jeez time goes fast. I think having kids make the years fly by. I'm still 50/50 on this trip. mainly just because of finances. the car is uglier since 2010. lol. body damage and paint are in a poor state right now and the interior isn't much better. but I REALLY hope I make it this year. a lot of ppl I still have not met yet. and very much looking forward to meeting your cars as well.

I'm still thinking about it, but the distance is definitely outside of my comfort zone for driving the alone. If we can get a support convoy of several Austin area members, I might risk it.

Well this was a big waste of my time. I totally understand it's a THIRDGEN roundup. But I had no idea that if I brought a good friend and obsessive fellow enthusiast along with one of his three Camaros that happens to be a Fourthgen that he would be outcasted to the outer parking lot and not even allowed to park near our cars. I just wanted him to be able to park where his beautiful 35th anniversary edition SS could be protected from irresponsible pedestrians. He knew he couldn't participate in the raffle, but still wanted to hang out with us and have a good time as he (unlike others here) enjoy and admire all f-bodys. Its times like this that make me ashamed to be apart of such events.

 

Well, should have expected it. I would not have wanted anything to be parked by me that was not a third gen if I made the drive.
