In need of Window piece

I'm not sure what its called, but attached to the door, and seals between the door, window and car. My driver side dry-rotted and I'm looking for a new one. Anyone have an extra or know where I can find them? It for an '82 T/A.

I'm not clear as to what you are asking for. Where EXACTLY does it go?

A picture would help.

Re: In need of Window piece

It goes in the door at the font of the window. completing the seal between the car frame, door and window. I will have pictures up soon, computer doesn't want to upload them.

Re: In need of Window piece

Oh, you need the "triangle" at the front of the glass. I don't know what it is called either.

But I am interested in how one would go about replacing it.

Re: In need of Window piece

Yea, sorry I should have said triangle. It appears to be bolted on the inside of the door, which is where mine dry-rotted. I still have part of it inside the door its self. An this piece also guides the window, and that came out with it.

Re: In need of Window piece

IIRC, the early years are different so you may want to verify what year you need. I think they're most commonly called window or door triangles and you should easily find them from someone parting out a car of similar year or searching under window or door triangle.

Oh, sorry, I forgot to say to use the search engine here to see if you can find some early Thirdgens being parted out.

Re: In need of Window piece

Thats a bummer, I have a couple of doors off of a '92 I parted out. I was thinking about pulling those triangles off for my car. But if they wont fit...

Maybe I'll have to transplant the eniter doors. Except they are power doors and I don't have power anything in my car. I'll probably diseect the '92 doors and see for myself if the parts will fit.

I have an 88 Formula parts car and i will check those out later this week when i
get to the shop. I don't believe those are any diff then what is on our 82 T/A's.
Am sure the window rubber on the triangles will be dry rotted but that is a
replacement part from Classic Industries GM part # G1220 RH and G1221 LH for
$78.95 and $80.95 respectively. They also carry a pair of reproductions part #
K3195 $29.95 a pair.

The parts are listed for 1982-1992 which is another indicator they are probably
all the same from 82-92.

P.S. those triangles are called 'Window Corner Filler' the rubber molding on it is called 'Window Corner Filler Weatherstrip'

Re: In need of Window piece

Sorry for reviving this old thread.

I got these 'Window Corner Filler Weatherstrips' from rockauto.com for replacing the cracked ones on my 1984 Z28 H.O.

Can one of you tell me the right procedure for replacing them? Do I have to remove the filler assembly first? Do the weatherstrips have to be glued somehow onto the filler assembly?

Many thanks for helping.

Greetings from Switzerland,
Roland
