New to thirdgen

Hello all.... I thought I would drop a hello from Tampa area. My 87 Iroc has sat in the garage for the past 11 years under the cover.Time has come to build a connection with my boys in the garage and turn wrenches.

Re: New to thirdgen

Thanks for the compliment, wow I am New Tampa. I intend to drop the suspension, add a 4 link, change a few interior pieces that are showing its age. I really would like to put on a set of 17 X 9 new shoes and uprage the brake and rotors.. The Champ 500 rims may be nostalgic, but I have been looking at them with the drag slicks on for a almost 20 years. Its time for a change!

The motor is healthy, although it is old school. The motor is a SDPC GM crate ZZ roller with a Novi 2000 supercharger and 1000 cfm TPI. I started getting my 2 youngest boys active in the garage. My little guy of 4 is a Camaro kid! Looking forward to next week @ the Sunshine State Camaro Club 32tnd Annual Picnic

Do you have a 3rd Gen?

Re: New to thirdgen

Yes, I own a black/black 1989 IROC that was sitting for 14 years in someones back yard - it has 38,750 original miles but the motor had to be removed due to a spun bearing - maybe the reason for it sitting? It seriously needs a repaint due to clear coat fade.

I was looking for a place in Wesley Chapel and had made an offer on a house but the bank backed out :P - but I'm very happy to be where I'm at.

Don't think my car is ready for a local meet - the exterior is an eyesore...where is the picnic being held?

Hi Quick, the comp 500 are 16's 245 50 and 255 on drag radials. I was thinking off some new shoes on 17's and put the champs 500's on the rack. Thoughts, do I rock the old school or change it up?
