Custom PROM ?
Anyone here doing custom PROM, i.e. have knowledge and equipment to do it ?
I must admitt, I have zero knowledge, I would be willing to get in on getting the equipment, but learning all that, whoa, way out of my league.
If not, is there a place in San Diego, or hmm LA or somewhere, where they do custom burning, i.e. bring the car to the guy and he burns ya a chip after analyzing your ride ?

Yep, I do that. You must be new and havent seen all the posts.
You need to bring your car to Don's shop in Orange, however.
EDIT: Oh, I just noticed you have TBI. I only have one TBI chip left and its already spoken for. If you can find me a source for new chips, I can do yours, too.

Oh ok, I see what ya mean, Kevin.
Hmmmm so my options are, finding the old chips.
But couldn't I do the adapting deal on the ECM, where one solders/installs one of Moates' deals that lets one use the newer design chips ?

I've never been able to erase the GM TBI chips and reuse them. They have to come aftermarket.
What is this Moates TBI adapter you speak of?

G2 Memory Adapter: 0.45" Spacing
Allows use of new Flash chips in many GM TBI setups. If the original application accepted a 24-pin chip such as a 2732A, then this adapter will allow you to upgrade to new Flash chips such as the AT29C256 and 27SF512. Soldering required (see product web page). This is the unit which will work if your original application had the chip holder with leg spacing of 0.45". Just check before ordering, you'll need to take the ECM apart to find out. Comes with everything you need to replace your stock chip holder with a standardized 28-pin chip socket that is compatible with the newer Flash chips. Installation service available for $25 if you're not comfortable soldering.
