Irwindale report...
A good time was had by all. As usual we were out-numbered by 4th gens., but not by much.
Passers-by seemed to enjoy checking out our cars on display eventhough Danny M. overheard a girl commenting how "passé" our third gens. were. We then did two parade laps following the Irwindale M**tang pace car. Burnouts and show-boating were allowed so long as you didn't pass the pace car.
The racing was pretty good and we even had a crash occur right in front of us as two 2nd gen. Camaros spun out during the Super Stock class race.
All-in-all, not a bad night. The Irwindale officials have invited us to come back another time so I'll keep you guys posted if/when that happens.

Glad everybody had a good time. I wish I had a good excuse for not making the event
but after working on the car all day getting ready for an autox, I came in 3:30 to clean up and get ready, sat down for a couple minutes and next thing I knew it was 4:25
I should have still gone since I'm only 10 minutes away, but didn't know if I could still get in with the group

You could'a & should'a. A 4th Gen arrived late (like nearly 6:00). The parade lap was around 6:45 or so. Some jerk in a 4th Gen did a burnout and passed Danny to get in between us. Then after the parade laps he was revving it through the pits as we returned to the staging area. He was getting all kinds of cat-calls from the racers (and for good reason).

Would that "jerk" have been in a black supercharged Trans Am (hard top)? If so that was Ray (aka Racer X).
That sounds like it was fun, did anyone from our group participate in the "exhibitions" (aka burnouts)?
I'd like to do this in the future.

It was a black 4th gen. What, me pay attention if it was a bird or Camaro? They all look alike, right? LOL
