its not that hard, theres a bolt at the bottom, mine was pretty rusted. then you have to lift up your rear carpet to get tot eh top of it. i got some shocks at autozone, 10$ each, that will hold me off untill i can afford some koni's

As far as a good brand, if you've got the originals on there, then anything will be better than the +16 year old shocks.

Most of your cheaper regular shocks are going to be about the same quality. Pick some up from your local parts store.

Everyone says they only have to lift the rear carpet. I actually had to take out the whole 5' long trim peice on each side to get the carpet to come up far enough.

P.S. Trent: The KONI's rock!

I don't think anyone includes the removal of the hatch plastic when they tell you to peel back the carpet... it's a must.

KYB's are a good cheap replacement. I have used them several times and like them.

I have the same shocks, and love 'em- but you'd better do a search on this message board (click on search in the upper right corner of this screen, below the advertisements, and choose the Suspenson forum) for air shocks.

Otherwise, you'll be very surprised when the upper shock mount blows out because of the air shocks. At least by reading it, you know what you're getting into.
