Wierd Vibration ... No One Can Figure It Out
Wierd Vibration ... No One Can Figure It Out
Hi, yes i know this type of posts seems redundant but i can't really find someone with my EXACT problem... this is really odd ... when i drive the car there is a vibration (from the wheel possibly) ... its present at all speeds, gets really loud at 50... some days it goes away when i cut the wheel left ... other days its only present when i cut the wheel left ... i have new tires, brakes and rear shoes ... anyone with some input or ideas would be appritiated ... thanks!

Is it just something you hear or can you feel it? if you can feel it, do you feel it through the wheel? the floor/seat? does the whole car shake?
What have you looked at already?

Did it always have this problem? What happened to the car before the problem started comming up? Did it hit anything or make any weird noises? Or was it a vibration that just slowly got bigger and bigger?
well no it didn't always have the problem... but i kinda just noticed it one day then it got louder and louder and i didn't think anything of it untill i changed my pads (i thought it was just my brakes)
yes you can feel it as well as hear it... the noise also gets faster as i accelarate... but it goes away when you brake... when i got my new pads ... it wasn't as loud...but it would get really loud when i braked....now its back to the quieting down when i brake!! i can't win!!

If it is doing it all the time it could be a bad wheel bearing? If the it vibrates heavily only when you brake it could be a warped rotor. Did you turn your rotors when you put on the new brakes? Where is the noise and/or vibration coming from? What kind of noise does it make? You really need to supply more information.
From you original description it sounds like a bad wheel bearing.

i agree with the bearing issue. when they start going bad, they make a humming noise. the faster you go, the louder it gets. if they are bad enough, then the rotor will wobble, causing a vibration.

jack up the front of the car and grab hold of each tire see if you can get any movement: up/down, left/right, in/out if you feel it like that its likely a suspension component...bearing, ball joint, tie rod end, etc. if not then take a close look at your rotor, take the tire off and turn the hub...does it rub at some points but not others? can you see any warpage?
