Has anyone ever built or seen an engine brace?

I was wondering if anyone has any pictures of an egine brace. Not a torque plate, but just something like a simple brace which goes between the engine and frame.

I used to know a guy that had a built up 454 in a mid 60's chevelle, he kept breaking engine mounts with it so he ended up wrapping a logging chain around the engine (no idea how he attached it) and welded the chain the the frame...iit eventually broke the chain apparatus and he sold it...i dunno how good a job he did on mounts or the chain, but i remember him always half assing projects...

I've seen people just use a good heavyduty turnbuckle, inexpensive and works well.

i had one on my RX-7, worked very very well...when you would drop gears you would feel a huge difference instead of the engine turning it would put the power to the ground...its like having a broken trans mount then fixing it...the difference, other then the clunking on the floorpan...

I would only worry about how the frame would fare over time since the motor would now be playing tug of war on the "wanna be" unibody frame rail if you install a turnbuckle attaching the motor to the frame.

If it is engine movement that you want to eliminate then solid or urethane mounts on the motor and trans would be the way to go in my book.
