Wonder Bar Installation Problem
Wonder Bar Installation Problem
Has anyone installed a wonder bar with the stock dual electronic fan setup? I just bought an adjustable wonder bar from Spohn and the bar hits the plastic base mount for the fans so it can’t be installed. I’m probably going to end up remounting the fans out of the way this weekend but I was just curious if anyone had the same problem and how they fixed it.

I went through the same problem. I was pretty pi$$ed. I had to cut , notches into all 4 mounts and drill out the holes bigger on the driver side , bend in the PS cooler lines , notch out 1/4 on the bolt holes in the pass side and bend the factory tab from the SW brackets on the pass side. It was far from a bolt in idea from my stock wonderbar.
well if you guys have the wonder bar..i have a qtn...will this help my steering radius?..it seems very hard for me to bust out u-turns..and it seems to get worse..i put new tires on the front and new center-link..any suggestions??thanks :hail:
I dont know about it helping your turning radius? The wonder bar is made to stiffen up the front sub-frame and reinforce the steering box mount. Needless to say I got the wonder bar on my car. I ended up taking off the fan mounts and shaving them with dremel tool for clearance away from the radiator.

Mine went in with no problems, I have the GM Wonder bar and not an adjustable. Can you post a pic similiar to mine so we can see what problems you had?
GM one fit fine for me. For whoever asked about turning radius....
it won't help at all. The wonderbar reinforces the chassis structure that the steering box is bolted to by connecting it to the corresponding section on the passenger side of the car. I have had cracking problems around the steering box before and feel that the wonderbar is a necessary structural member on our cars to prevent that. Others advocate it as a handling modification, I say get one as a longevity/durability modification.
