Looking for pictures of the new strut mounts installed that Spohn offers. Interested in purchasing a set but would like to first see what they look like installed.

Although my car isn't the nicest looking under the hood, here is a pic of a set I made and put on my car. The only difference in the one's I make and supply to Spohn is that I don't engrave them for Steve.

I've been thinking about those. Alloy, what is the O.D. of the cylinder near the top and the overall height of them?

Thanks alloy. I wonder if there is a way to attach the stock plastic caps so the strut nut wont show. How much do you think it'd cost to powercoat them black? I'm not sure ordinary spray will stick very well.

Talk to Steve Spohn. He has parts powder coated all the time and could probably get you a price.
FYI: All the mounts now come polished. It would be a shame to powder coat a polished part like this.

Will the height of the mounts interfere with a stock hood?? Also what is your price compared to Spohn and if memory serves me right you can also engrave anything we want into the top of these mounts right??

The height of the mounts does not interfere with the hood in any way.
The base is the same shape as the stock plates are. The profile is just slightly modified to accommodate the extra 1/4" of camber adjustment.

What does the extra 1/4" of camber do? Can't an alignment shop do the same thing with a stock strut mount as far as aligning the car go's?

The entire idea of adding extra adjustment was the type of person that buys these mounts is looking for better performance, and probably pushes his car pretty hard. This type of person will want to set some negative camber for better handling.
If you don't want to run negative camber on you car, then it's no problem. You can easily run stock alignment settings with our mounts. But the extra adjustment is there if you need it.
Just ask Dewey316 if he would have liked some more camber adjustment on the mounts he has.

yeah, both mounts are maxed on my car, all i could get was -0.3*
so to get more camber i am going to have to lower my car.

Obviously every car must be different in the manufacturing process. My HMS mounts can only move so far until they make contact with the master cylinder. At that point they are about maxxed out in adjustment anyways- however, it would be easy enough to extend the slots more if one had to (not a big undertaking). Any more neg adjustment will be rendered useless unless you go to an afteremarket brake master cylinder. Ground Control units are the best for racing camber specs- they give the best clearance.

Here's a pic showing MC clearance (or lack of)- As it stands right now, I have to remove the fluid cover for clearance to dial the shock damping.

dean,
mine are touching the MC resevor also. if my car was actualy lowered i would be ok on the camber adjustment for where i want my alignment specs. but with the HMS mounts sitting higher than stock, and my car not being lowered, i actualy lost adjustment. guess it gives me a good reason to put her down in the weeds one of these days

i remember asking you jeff, that same question about your HM mounts, just for some reason the base looked smaller to me on the spohn mounts. polished does look awesome, polished strut mounts should look great next to my polished STB
