BMR Torque Arm

Just curious if anyone has ever purchased the BMR Torque arm.
I hate to do this to steve spohn, since all my suspension parts and chassis parts so far have been from him, but his Torque arm costs 399.99 shipped to my door while at thunderracing.com, I can get it shipped for under 325.00. :-/
But I was just curious if anyone has any experience with the BMR Torque Arm. Thanks

which BMR arm are you looking at, they have 3 diffrent versions.

one that uses a stock style mount

the trak pack, that needs a cross-member welded in

and the extreme, which is a heavier duty versino of the trak pack.

the later two on that list are much shorter than stock, so weight transfer will change, good for drag racing, bad for road racing, auto-x , or anything where braking performance is wanted.

Should you simply be shopping for options and you want something stronger than stock (but non-adjustable), you might consider Edelbrock's version at, I think $159:

Spohns unit moves it off of the tailshaft though - that's where the price comes in. The torque arm should NEVER have been put ON the TAILSHAFT.

I am sure BMR made improvements to the tailshaft mounting idea though... but I would go with Spohn and save my money elsewhere.

Spohn also has a new one with the factory tranny mounting point. Think its cheaper then the BMR one.

torque arm

i think jegs has a torque arm that also mounts to a welded-in cross brace...thus taking pressure off the trannie.

Yes it can. Just tell Steve when you purchase the arm and he will notch the crossmember for you to clear the alston's.

That' what he offered to do for me, but I forgot to tell him so I notched them myself. Only took a few minutes to do.
