17'' ROH Spyders Question

Hi guys,

I am buying a set of 4 ROH Spyders tomorow and I wanted to go with 17x9 all around but the sales guy told me that I can not fit 17x9 in the front , only in the rear and I would have to go with 17x8 in the front and 17x9 in the rear. Is this true? My car is a lowered 87 iroc convertible. I know the car is lowered but i'm not sure how much , 1 or 2 inches. Also what tire size / brand would you sugest i go with? Thanks for the help!

Plenty of people on the board are running 17x9s on all four corners, a 275/40/17 is the most popular size.

Even if the car is lowered? And 275 even in the front?

Yup. Although I have a 245 tire up front I have room for a 275. I am also running the sportline springs. Check sig for pics.

Thanks guys!
I am just wondering what the hell was the sales guy talking about. He is working for "jdwheels" and they are supposed to be very good. Oh well...when I go in there tomorow I will tell him that I want 17x9 all around. Thanks for the info.

I ran into the same problem....Is there any difference in traction or handling with the 17x9 over the 17x8?

It is hard to out drive an 8" wheel but every bit of surface traction helps.

They range from 208 a wheel to 250 a wheel. You can get them anywhere. I would even check your local wheel source. www.jdwheels.com and www.groupawheel.com a re a few places online that have them.

I got them from a place in Long Island. They were 1350 installed with 4 Michelin 265 ZR tires. Price included everything.
