Puttin 4th gen firehawk rims on my car
I'm putting 99 firehawk rims on my car. I was told before I'm going to need 2" spacers in the rear? Where can I get spacers and are they expensive?
The rims are 17x9's with 7" backspacing / 2" offset, bolt pattern 5 lug on 4.75" bolt, 2 11/16" center bore.
I'm putting 275/35 in the rear and 245/40 up front. Do I really NEED spacers or will they work with out them? I'm low on money!

You'll need spacers/adapters. No way of getting around them. Well unless you put a 4th gen rear, then you'd only need the fronts.
Theres plenty of places now selling them.
Try www.skulte.com or www.vettebrakes.com
Also check the classifieds. They turn up quite a bit on them.

I personally used 1 1/4" in back and 2 1/4" in front. That's what most were doing back in 98 when I put the wheels on originally. But I think most have gone 2" front and rear.
I bought thru Vettebrakes cause Skulte was backordered back then. I probably have the part numbers at home.

i think SLP sells the spacers. as for your tire sizes, i'd keep them the same. your car is going to handle wrong with those 2 sizes. the correct size that is equal to the width of the 245/50/15 is a 255...45 i believe? i'm not sure on the sidewall % but i know for sure its a 255.

There is nothing wrong with running a wider tire in the rear than up front. You just don't want to have the front tire taller than the rear. You should run 275/40 in the rear and 245/45 up front if you do not want 275's all the way around.
never said there was anything wrong with it but the car will handle better with the same size all around. i used to run big ***** in the back then swapped them out for equal sizes. big difference on the off ramps
