Pics of my front LS1 brake swap, PST kit, etc,etc...
Well after 180k miles on my car, I figured it was time to rebuild the frontend. Here is what I'm doing, this is my latest mini-project until I get my 12bolt/9" and my LS1/6speed swap completed.
Here is a pic and here is what I'm doing:
-all new bushings, ball joints, tie rods, endlinks, etc... PST polygraphite kit
-new KYB struts (new KYB shocks on the rear as well)
-Eibach Sportline springs (front and rear)
-putting my 36mm swaybar back on w/ all poly mounting pieces
-sandblasted and powdercoated a-arms and spindles
-stock spindles modified by me to accept the big LS1 brakes
-custom caliper brackets from Ed Miller to run LS1 calipers on my spindles
-polished\painted LS1 calipers
-"Russel" stainless steel/braided brake lines (front and rear)
-custom hubs (stock 3rd gen rotors machined down) w/ longer wheel studs
-all new bearings, seals, and races in the hubs
-stock LS1 rotors and pads (front and rear)
*I think that is about it.... and oh yeah, my 17" wheels and tires (4th gen WS6 rims w/ firehawk rubber) should be here sometime next week Looks like I'll be doing some corner carving before I put my LS1 in and hit the dragstrip.
All these mods are in addition to my other suspension mods I already had....
-Lakewood LCA's
-Lakewood APHR
-SSM SFC's
-poly rear sway bar mounts and endlinks
I'm really curious how this thing is gonna handle when its done. What do you guys think? I'll take pics as I do the swap and post final pics of the car with its new stance and new wheels/tires. Later

Nice!! You'll like the Eibach/KYB combo. I know they're not the best strut/shock out there but they're good for the money.

Where can I get those upper strut mounts at a decent price? They don't look to hard to replace. Please let me know, some others have suggested those and I'm trying to look into that more.
I will need some LCA reloc's along with some shorter swaybar endlinks too.
I can't wait to get it all on, I hope it turns out well!!

jack the car up, put jack stands under on the frame. then take the jack, and jack on the control arm, until the suspension is compressed. use a felt tip marker to mark along the outside of the old mount. remove big bolt in the middle, and then the 3 on the outside. remove old, replace with new, put all hardware back. lower jack, repeat on other side, then drive to alignment shop

Kaga15, correct me if I'm wrong but doesnt the shock need to be fully expanded to do any removal. Jacking up the control arm to compress the suspension could result in the shock jumping up?
