i will be picking up a 3rd gen in the next few months. i have a wicked engine swap im doing. a l67 6cyl. anyway i would like to set the car up for street/roadcourse/drag. i hava basic idea of what i want and was wondering if you guys had any comments or suggestions on my setup.
polly bushings, ST swaybars front/rear, performer ias shocks (had them on my nova loved them)
Edlebrock STB, lakewood traction action bars, jegs 4 point rollcage, edlebrock panhard bar, edlebrock tourque arm, weld in subframe connectors.
ws6 steeringbox and replacing all the steering components. i also thought about adding a powersteering cooler. i would also like to upgrade the brakes to a larger disc size or add discs to the rear. a easy swap in rear i could build out of car and just slide in would be great. the final numbers arent definite cause i need to think about rear/trans gears but im looking in the neighborhood of 400hp 600ft tourqe

Edelbrock also make a non-adjustable version if you're looking in that direction.

i would never buy another edlebrock piece again....obviously because of how poor their torque arms are built but also because of their lack of customer service. their warranty strictly states in small print how edlebrock is not responsible for any of their suspension pieces failing, in the due fact a problem like mine above occurs the owner is responsible for paying shipping as well as any major in due costs the company may recieve fixing the problem. edlebrock is not responsible for any vehicles or damage that incures.
while this could easily be fought in court, it would be a major hassle....took a long time for them to fix my part and it was at my cost.
on the up side they did offer me a hat................

While I'm satisfied with the piece itself--it's beefy and it's a perfect fit on a ten-bolt--the packaging was so laughable that the poly trans mount was missing. Edelbrock did replace, but the hassle was, IMO, unnecessary.

well be careful, check your welds when you can. mine broke right away. we had two that snapped at the track causing severe damage to the cars and one that failed on the free way causing the driveshaft to go to waist.
after seeing 6 personally fail here in michigan just in my area i wouldn't trust it. if it works that's good, edlebrock even said there were problems with the units but it was cheaper to deal with them on a one on one basis. they supposedly re-engineered the mold over the last month or two. the piece i recieved in return did have much thicker welds on the unit but it's still hard for me to trust it.
good luck with it, just be very careful...

Thanks for the heads-up. I've been using mine for several years without difficulty. I did have it out of the car this summer when I was upgrading to PBR's, and all looked good. I understand about trust. Once lost....

I see edlebrock for intakes not for suspension. They built there company on intake systems not on shocks or other pices like that. I would buy from a company that specializes in suspension items etc.

I was thinking about an aftermarket torque arm, but was unsure, how much difference do they actually make? Is it worth the $? I have boxed in my lower control arms, inserted poly bushings, KYB GR-2 shocks/struts, Eibach Pro springs, installed a poly torque arm mount (at trans) and also installed a poly trans mount. My current mods have made a great difference in handling(and road noise), but is there a lot to gain by adding the torque arm? I was also thinking about boxing in or fabbing my own panhard bar. Has anybody done this and noticed a lot of difference?
Thanks.
Thanks.

ok, the l67 is the 3.8liter supercharged v6 in the grand prix gtp. right now in my gtp i have a stage 1 ported blower, intercooler, 3.0 pulley, stage 1 pcm, 1.7 rockers, stage 1x cam, ported manifolds, custom lower intake. with the gearing in my trans i have 344 at the wheel.
for the camaro im building i am going stage 2 blower, stage 2 throttlebody, stage 3 cam, 1.6 full roller rockers, stage 2 heads, headers, intercooler, 2.8 pulley, machined lower intake. with the gearing of the 5speed, and im still working on what to do for a rear axel ratio i should be in the 400-435whp
being a 6 it will be lighter and more central on the car making it a corner carving monster. and since i get 20mpg with 93 octane city driving it shouldnt be much of a loss to drive it around.
