How to bore out billet wheel adapters?

Ok so a few months ago I bought some billet wheel adapters for my 4th gen 10 spokes. The inside diameter of these adapters was to small to fit over the rotor "cone," my temperary solution was to use the brake laithe at work to mill down the cone. In a week or two I will be installing a LS1 brake kit and it will come with some nice zinc coated hubs, so my question is, how would you guys suggest I bore out the adapters? I will take them to a machine shop if I must but am attempting to do it my self.

Yeah, I know, I just hate to pay some one to do what I can do myself. Anybody else got a suggestion.

Post what you find.

I've found that locally, most machine shops want to stick to normal production/engine rebuild work, and don't want to take jobs like that. The basic answer you get with something like this is that "you need to make friends with someone that works at a reasearch lab's machine shop..."

Great, I cant wait to be jerked around by them. I work at O'Reillys and if all else fails I can try to ship them off and see if my employment gets me a favor from our excuse for a "machine shop." But as requested I'll post my findings.

Another good suggestion is a local vo-tech or engineering / technology /agriculture university in your area. You just might already know someone that could help...

Use a cylinder hone to enlarge the hole.

I have done this on aluminum wheels that needed to be opened to clear the hub.

You can rent one from auto zone and put inon a drill motor
