True factory WS6?

I'm a 2nd gen. firebird fan converting to 3rd gen firebird fan. On 2nd gen the only way to tell if it is a true WS6 is to measure the sway bar dia. How do you know if a 3rd gen is a WS6? Thx.

Check the RPO code sheet for "WS6." The RPO sheet is normally located in the center armrest/glovebox - either on the lid or on the "Floor" of the box.

Assuming everything is factory, measuring your sway bar diameters can give you a pretty good clue. Take your VIN to a dealer and see if they can print the RPO codes out. I don't know if they still do that but might be worth a shot.

The bars are the main indicator.
If you are unsure of your car, I am parting out my 90 Formula WS6 and I'll sell you the springs and sway bars.

I'm looking for another 3rd gen TA or GTA. I really don't need the bars. Thx. anyway.

The year of car will be a telling factor in finding out what makes a "True" WS-6 car.

My 1983 T/A , with WS6 on the build sheet, came with a 32mm front, and a 21mm rear.

Nearly every year, from then on, increased the sizes of the bars and combos, until maxxing out at 36 front 24 rear.

I'll admit, the bar sizes in 83 are not as big, but it is still a "True" WS6, because of the RPO on the build sheet.

This is just for your information.

Leon.
