Spohn's Front End Rebuild Kit.... Worth it?

Is the Spohn front end rebuild kit worth the 380? Or could you but the individual parts cheaper? Do I even need the parts?

you can buy the individual parts from summitracing for WAY less but spohn is a supporter of TGO so if you don't mind spending more, suppport those that support us.

Cool. I always buy my stuff from Spohn, but that seemed a bit high if I could get it elsewhere for less. I plan to get LCAs, relocation brakets, front sway bar, and a Pro-Kit soon, and I already have the panhard bar, rear sway bar and wonder bar; all from Spohn. I support the Thirdgen cause. lol. Thanks.

well if you're gonna get all that other stuff from spohn then you can save some money on the front end kit by going with summit then....lca's, panhard bar e.t.c from spohn are top quality and you wont find them at summitracing.

I bought and installed

Spohn Front End Rebuild Kit
Spohn SFC's
Spohn Adj Panhard Bar
Spohn Wonderbar
Spohn LCA lowering brackets

All top quality products and i have been very pleased with the results.

Anything that did not have to be welded I put on myself. The front end rebuild kit was pretty simple intall. The only thing that took time was the ball joints.

I also put on Eibach pro-kit springs, koni yellow adj shocks and struts, lakewood lca's.

AND no the pic in my sig was not after the new springs.. i will get new pics soon!

Did the LCA lowering brakets help with the cornering?
Could you notice a major difference with the SFCs?

Thanks.

I noticed a immediate difference with the SFC's. It was night and day. Just for fun i took some highway curves at about 80 and took notice of any body roll, etc.. then got the SFC on and did it again.. the car now stays absoulutly flat with the ground.. body roll is about non-existent. I just find myself rolling in my seat =).

The LCA lowering brackets are actually not on the car yet. I put the back springs on and the adj panhard bar a couple months ago. Just got around to putting the front springs on. Need to have the LCA brackets welded in. It should help cornering, if anything it should at least help launches and traction. It will do that even on a non-lowered car.

Cool, thanks.
Man, I love the 1990 IROC. That site is cool. Let me know when you do the relocation brackets, if you don't mind. I'd like to know what they do before I get them.
Thanks.

I am making my way through "Lowered Suspension Modification?" post.

I am trying to decide if i should take my isolators out or not. I really don't like the height in the backend either.. stupid eibach people

Hopefully i can get the lca relocation brackets on soon and an aligment too.

HERE is some pics from the previous rounds of mods i did.

That is going to depend on your setup. The key to handling with the LCA angle is balance. If the axle side mount gets too low, you get quite a bit of roll oversteer, but you also get quite a bit of anti-squate. Good for bite coming out of the corner, coversly, that can effect braking performance and possibly induce brake hop.

Too high, you many not be able to apply power very well coming out of the corner. You end up with some slight roll understeer.

Like anything else, the key here is balancing you ride height, with the LCA's. Some cars need the relocations backets in stock form, depending on the LCA's angle. Some do not even need them when they lower 1". It will all be about what you particular car needs, and what you as the driver prefer.

I'm won't even touch roll centers, and the other aspects of the this all.

And for what its worth, you can replicate the spohn front end kit, from you local Napa.

I think I'll get the LCAs and brackets after my SFCs. That way, I can feel the car out and them make adjustments accordingly. This sound like a plan?

I don't know if I would call that a rebuild kit, more like a replacement kit. looks like the pitman arm is the only thing not actually being replaced in this kit.
