6'' lift on a firebird?
i have seen this rust red firebird driving around,with mud tires and a lift kit. it looks like it is still firebird suspension,just taller,there is about 3'' clearance between the tire and fender.it looks like something out of mad max. i like the off roader look on muscle cars,it makes them just that much cooler.
has anyone seen anything like this?

its probably just an f-body on a blazer frame...not cool...well unless you have a good firebird body and a good blazer frame....but still pretty tasteless

Oh yeah, the SlingRay? That would be pretty cool, except I seem to remember they had some sort of external chain drive to hook up the four wheel drive. Dosent sound very reliable.But the paint was cool, and open headers through the hood was pretty sweet as well. Would make for a few headaches what with all the race fuel and NO2 they were burning.

I think it was a blown 454... it didn't last long IIRC, but made 600HP on a dinky small budget...
and yea, I remember the chain driven front diff...I'd second that, very unreliable.
as for the lifted firebird, how do you know it's not on a blazer frame? i'd guess it'd be hard to spot...?
Every now and then someone posts pictures of that, and just about always there's a huge arguement, and it gets locked. So it'd be easy to search and find it, just look for the locked threads...
I think it'd be neat to see, and i'd rather have a jacked up V-8 Fbody then a 4cyl one...... But still, if it's in nice shape, don't do that to it.... if it's already junked, hey, fun project, that will definately catch peoples eyes...

They sell extra high lift coil springs in JC whitney, hardly a 6" lift, more like 3-4". I think you'd have a little trouble with alignment after that. with those coils and some fender trimming you could probably get away with running a 33" tire. Not that I've ever thought about it too much or installed those coils for exhaust clearance
