sway bar install
I just put on a 36mm bar and have a question. I had to fight the brackets that hold the bar to the car pretty hard to get them to line up with the bolt holes. Made me think that the bar may be tweaked a little. Has anyone had a similar experiance?

Install the bar with the brackets first, then the end links.

I was wondering about this too. I installed the brackets first then the end-links. The end links aren't straight up and down though. Kinda like they are too tall. They don't line up staight with the holes either. I posted about it last week but didn't get any answers. What length are your guys' endlinks, front or back?
Is you sway bar parallel with the ground or is it tilted?
Any info appreciated...

I got the bar installed, I was just curious if anyone else had swapped in a different bar and noticed it not lining up with the brackets perfectly.

I recently replaced my endlinks using my stock sway bar, and the holes (from bar to arms) didn't line up very well. About 1/2 inch off. Everything feels fine. If thats any help.

IIRC you need to load the front suspension a bit to get things lined up. I think that I used a jack to apply pressure to the A arm until things lined up

I had the same thing last February when I did mine. I bought universal ES greaseable poly bushings. The universal kit has slots cut for the mounting bolts to pass through. These are great for the rear bar, but for the front, the holes in the frame do not line up directly across from each other and the brackets need to be installed at an angle.
Anyway...that's why I had to fight with mine...

If you guys are having fitment problems with the chassis mounted brackets (right by the wonderbar under the radiator) make sure you are using the correct size bushings and brackets. They do make specific bushings for specific size bars. I believe the stock brackets will work with any size stock swaybar, provided you have the correct bushings. Some aftermarket bars will not work with the stock bracket or even the smallest bushing (this is what happened to me and my PST front swaybar). Also gotta make sure the wonderbar is in correctly if it has been removed (usually gets removed when you take the bar off), the wonderbar has the mounting tabs at an angle, if they are on the wrong way the bolt holes will not line up and it needs to be forced. When connecting the endlinks its a good idea to load the suspension like these guys said with a floorjack. As the a-arm travels to fully unloaded its no longer at the correct angle to install the endlinks. If the bar was still connected the endlink bushings would be getting stressed. You also need to make sure the tabs of the swaybar (on each end) are lined up properly with the a-arm, they should be parallel. Like the wonderbar, if it possible to attempt an install the wrong way with the tabs at an upward angle. The endlink spacer may need to be modified according to your ride height to give you the correct swaybar geometry. The idea is that the tabs on the end sit parallel with the chassis when the suspension is loaded. So if you lowered the car alot, you'll probably need shorter endlink spacers. You can trim the stockers or buy new ones. I happened to get a "package" of left over parts from a friend that gave up on 3rd gens, it had the boatload of aftermarket endlink spacers so I didnt end up modifying the stockers.
