Lowered car, Alstons & ground clearance?

Those of you that installed the Alston SFC's on a lowered car, how much ground clearance did you lose? Are you guys scraping speed bumps worse now?

Thanks!

Hello Tom,
Speed bumps were the least of my worries until I bought my 85 Iroc lowered 1.5 inches. Now I scrape on an ant screwing the queen, JK. I can hear a sound coming from the rear of the car and I swear that it sounds like tires scraping but AI cannot find any proof or evidence that they are. Strangest thing, I have even checked the clearance in park and it seems ok. What do you think?

I'm lowered an inch and will scrape speed bumps every now and then- that's why I'm concerned about what I'll lose if I put the Alstons on. Do you have the Alston subframe connectors?

I lost at least a half an inch of ground clearance. I now scrape speed bumps where I didn't before. Anyhoo, I knew it, I knew it, should have gone with Spohn's. Also, I thought the Alstons where a pain to install and they didn't clear the exhaust very well (a lot of extra cutting, grinding and welding to fix). I'm sure the Spohns would install much easier and not have the exhaust clearance problems like the Alstons.

My car is lowered w/ the Eibach pro-kit. I also have the Alston SFC's. I am running stock single-cat exhaust.

In the past two years I think I have only scraped 3 times. (2 speed bumps, and 1 steep driveway) Just remember that your car is LOW and take it SLOW. Also learn to go over things at unusual angles, and youll be fine.

My alstons did not have the best fit. So I sent them back to Alston explaining the problem. They fixed the SFC's, and now they fit like a glove.

They were bolted and welded.

My Alston's haven't ever scraped, but then, my car isn't lowered either. My
driveway is fairly steep, and I scrape my air dam every day, so I don't want to
lower it and scrape paint. But they weren't bad going in....

I don't have the alstons, I went with spohn, but my car is lowered 1"3/4 and I never scrape unless theres a very steep drop. Like TAdan said take it slow!
