End Link Kits - Questions
I did a couple searches, but can't seem to answer my question.
I'm looking on summitracing to get new Energy Suspension end link kits, and they do not show any for the front on a 91 Camaro, only rears.
My question is this: What length do I need for the front end link kits? Summitracing.com splits them up in lengths. And also, would I use the same length if I went from my 34mm to a 36mm sway bar, and same with the back if I went up a size.
Last, do you guys think the 1LE kits from TDS are as good or better than the energy suspension end link kits?
Thanks.

Front and rear end link kits are the same on my '83 Z.Other years are probably similar but it's best to check. The Energy Suspension P/N 9.8117 ending in "R" you get red bushings, ending in "G" you get black ones.I bought mine at Auto Zone. They carry the ES lube also.

So it does not matter about the size of the sway bar? The end-links will work with all sizes?
Im going to a junkyard this Saturday, and I'm going to try and find an IROC with 36mm and 24mm sway bars to swap out my 34 and 21. I just wanted to make sure the endlinks would work for either sizes.

I bought the same size front n rear.
I also later upped the size of my front and rear bar, keeping the same endlinks.
I am now lowered even, with same endlinks.... but I should get shorter ones.

I just took off my sway bars and looked at the end links. They are totally different. The rears are at least an inch+ longer than the fronts.
Do you think that they used different sizes in 91 or something. Im just confused b/c I cant find anything online about which part numbers I need and whatnot.

The 1LE end links, front and rear, from GM (10221779) are the same length. These are poly by the way. Note the GM end links, the 36mm bar with Lon's greaseable bushings. The steering box brace is from Global West (which I purchased long before any board sponsor was fabbing them). Lon's stuff is first rate and highly recommended.

Those are the 'New' style 1LE links, I had some FE2 end links that are small, either blue or tan , and even harder than the ones pictured. I don't think they make the old style anymore (my 4thgen had the style pictured from the factory),
Good luck finding a 36mm in a junk yard, not as many cars came with these as you think, the standard Iroc bar is 34mm, only like 1 or 2 years came with 36mm from the factory. More GTAs had them I believe. someone posted the stats on here before on the cars that came with the 36mm bar.
oh yeah, It was very noticable to me when I swithced from the 34mm to the 36MM - physically and visually the thing is a heavier bar- very little lean out of a 36mm bar. The swap was worth it to me.

Some Camaros 89-92 and some Firebirds 86-92 had the 36/24 combo. I've stumbled on several sets over the years without particularly trying to find them. They are still available new from GM, I believe.
36mm front: 14094344
Front bushing (higher durometer rubber): 14094389
24mm rear: 10035033
Rear bushing: 10037104
End links: 10221779
1LE LCA's (with higher durmeter rubber): 10164151
By the way, my 85 IROC had stock blue poly bushings, but this was well before the introduction of 1LE cars.

Would it be ok to keep my 21mm rear and go with a 36mm front? I really dont have money for both bars right now(which is why i wanted to find them in the junkyard)
Or do you think my 34/21 combo with poly bushings will be good enough? I also have TDS Wonderbar to install also.

The last set I purchased (36/24 combo) was only $50. Looking back on my own decisions, I'd say go with what you truly want the first time even if you have to save a while; otherwise you'll probably end up buying twice.
