Help with Wheels on a 9 bolt??

right now i have 16" wheels on my 89 Iroc-z, it has the 9 bolt rear with disc brakes, which 15" wheels would work to clear the disk brakes? looking to run slicks on the back but need a wheel that'll work, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

If it has the later, PBR rear discs, then very few 15's will fit. I think weld makes like 3 wheels that will clear.
- How fast you looking to run? You'd be suprised at what you can get out of drag radials...many times dr cars are faster than cars on slicks.
- also, you can get 16" slicks to fit your factory wheels.

15" z28 wheels fit. you can have them widened, or you can mount a 275 width tire on there. my freind had them on his gn, and they hooked great.

i do not know if the 15" iroc's will clear. i know the z28's will because i mounted a set on the rear of my 89 just to see. i would bet the 15" irocs would clear, but check the clearance before you drive it.

also, anyone know the weight of the 15" iroc compared to the 15" z28? i would bet the z28 wheel is lighter.

These are 15x8.5 convos, with a 27 tall ET Street. Fits with the discs no problems.

Thank you. The B/S is 5"... Oh and I found another pic of the rear disc, from the inside of the wheel. Not a real good shot, but it shows that they clear the rims.

you don't need slicks to run 13's......255/50/16 drag radial's on your factory wheels would do more than enough. Hell I'm running 11's on 17" DR's....they're a bit wider though.... - Anyhow, plenty of people running WAY faster than 13's, hooking really hard on street tires.

will stock 15" iroc wheels fit over the brakes or not? because i know a few people that have some laying around that i could probably get for free to throw drag radials on for the track.

Car: too many ...
I have an 89 IROC-Z with the B/W 9 bolt rearend with PBR disc brakes. The stock 15x7 wheels from both the RS and IROC-Z models fit with no rubbing. I'm only talking about the wheels though, tire rubbing might be a different story (depending on what tire you use and the suspension).

well i got the slicks for free, and they're in good shape and should fit under the car nicely, so if its free i might as well mount em up and get a better time than on my streets, i went down to the track and couldn't get out of the 15's all night because of the car not hooking up at all.
