what a total PITA

all i was doing is try installing the wonder bar,
i couldnt seem to install it right, so i tried to just put it back in
without the braces between.

even then the freaking bolt doesnt go into the hole..

I might have stripped it?
im not sure what it is but the bolt just doesnt engage the hole right,
like i know the bolt and hole is aligned but it still wouldnt screw in.. WTF?

is that a bad thread or do i need to just engage the hole perfectly or something?
caz i think once the bolt is in, its a snap. but bolt is having such hard time getting the first screw(like it doesnt start to go in)

any feedback is appreciated.

When I installed my wonder bar, I had a time trying to get one or two of the bolts in right. What I did was took a break and drank a soda and sat down for a few min. After that it took me just a few min to get them on. What I did was loosened the other bolts almost all the way so I could move the assembly around a bit. After I got all four bolts started, I tightned them down and done.

My wonderbar went in very easily. Did you order the longer bolts from TDS to make up for the wonderbar? My old bolts were rough and had trouble going back in, but the new bolts went in nicely.

thats what i was thinking..
since this had to be done without jacking up the car,
i have no much room
and it was such a PITA to hold the bar up while trying to align to holes.

i jacked up the swaybars but still the bolt have very hard time reaching the hole.. so i thought of longer bolt too.

i didnt know TDS sells one, i think im gonna order one then.

hey thanku!

I put two bolts in the far bolt holes, (the extra 3rd hole on the wonderbar) to hold it up, then put in the actual bolts with the sway bar bushings.

I couldnt imagine doing it easily without a jack....It will make it much easier for you.

Make sure you order 6 new longer bolts.

I got all 6 just to be sure I had all new bolts and to make sure it went in easy.

What a waste, i just unbolted the sway bar, put the wonder bar inbetween, and started tighntning the bolts. I didn't need a jack to hold up anything. I just got frustrated for a bit and took a break. you guys are making this alot harder than it is. I did this with jack stands holding up the car, and me on my back.

instruction says u need this job done while the suspension is fully loaded,
so thats why i didnt jack it up and do it.

did u jack it up from the control arm or something? just wondering..

I agree this thread is making it seem harder than it really is. I share in your frustration, when installing a Global West wonderbar on my IROC-Z, I also got kinda pissed off about how simple it should be compared to how hard it actually was. But it wasnt that bad! I did mine with my car in the air, suspension unloaded. Re-used the stock bolts after cleaning them with a wire brush. When you torque everything to spec, then the suspension should be loaded. But while just threading the bolts in, dosnt matter. I did mine by myself laying on my back, both hands holding one side of the swaybar and wonderbar, foot supporting the other side of both. Thread in the first sides bolts, then switch it around and get the other side going. Then when they're all threaded, set up the endlinks but do not tighten, put the car back down to load the suspension, then tighten everything down to spec (helps to turn wheels to full lock when tightening endlinks w/ car on the ground).
