Shock recommendation - driver duty, not racing
I need to replace the shocks on my GTA. I am only looking for an "OEM replacement" ride. I am not looking to make it any stiffer or harsher. A stock third gen WS6 is stout enough for me!
I can get a good deal on Delco shocks at my dealer, but if any of the major OEM replacement brand/models are regarded highly around here, I'd get a set of them. Thanks for any suggestions.

Bilstiens for our cars are expensive (sports and HD), upto $700 for a set depenging on where you buy..
I went with KYB GR2 for the fronts and KYB Gas-A-Just for the rears. $175 at Advance for set I am running and $150 for all 4 GR2's.

sully91rs: Yes I am using those shocks with my sportlines.
G8T8A: the KYB's might be a tad stiffer, but not much. I got my new set of KYB's for free from a friend who went with the Bilstein HD's. KYB's have a lifetime warranty so I just took them to Advance and got them swapped for new ones. My friend is the manager so I didn't have to have a receipt.

How well does the gr2 and gaj setup work with the sportlines? I'm looking to change out my saggy stock springs for prokits, but I wasn't sure if gr2 and gas-a-justs would work with it. I have been thinking I'll need to get the KYB AGX.

I have no problems with my setup at all, and the car that the KYB's came off was running the Pro Kit and he had no issues either..
AGX would be a better choice, but 3 times the price.

I agree, the KYB gas-a-just and GR2 combo is pretty popular for a reason - virtually stock replacement cost, (apparently a lifetime warantee too eh?), and they work a bit better than brand new Z28 stuff.
I have them on my car with moog 5664's and cc635s, and I love the ride. Hard, but not unbearable.

For idle readers, I had the KYB combo mentioned. That was many years ago. I found the fronts soft and the rears hard. I went to the yesteryear option of Monroe F1s. The fronts are still in place. One of the rears gave up 4 years ago. You should have heard the stiffled laughter I got when I tried to collect on the lifetime Monroe gaurantee. I put Bilsteins on the back. The combo seems to work. Mind you it has been years since I've been near roads to exercise the suspension (Florida is flat with lots of 90 degree intersections).

I have the sensa-trac monroes and they work great for a daily driver. Not super spongy like an ultra cheap shock but not harsh like some shocks on the market. Not the best choice for autocross but great for daily driver duties. I am very happy with mine on all four corners.

After passing up a set of never driven KYB GR2s from a friend at a good price, I am getting the Sensatracs. If they're softer than stock WS6 struts/shocks, it won't be too bad.
