Stock suspension replacemnt stuff.

I have a completely stock suspension, stock ride height and all.

I would love to lower my car, but my exhaust screams no to me. It hangs way too low with the way it's ran, I have damn near flattened it a few times already.

I think I may need to replace my struts and strut mounts. I don't know how many miles are on them. I want to know of some struts that will help the car ride a little smoother, but retain the handling, and without lowering it any.

I will be getting some bigger wheels with wider tires, so that should help the ride quality some, but I think I might do struts here in a few months or so and I want to know what you guys run, or what you guys know about some good ones. The car is my DD, so nothing meant for race use or anything would be good right now.

if the exhaust is stock, it should not be hanging down to a point where it could be easily damaged, it may be comming apart or a hanger is broken/missing.

Not stock. Hooker 3" cat-back, no cats, with Hedmann Headers.

That's the reason I don't lower my vehicles - I'd rather be able to drive fast and aggressively, than have a car that may look "cooler" or faster, being lowered, and have to drive around like a little old lady to avoid potholes and bumps in the road, and or have a trashed undercarriage.
I'd recommend not lowering the car.

It seems that for struts/shocks theres'

monroe/gabriel - stock replacement. Barely stock for a V6 car, I wouldn't say adequate for a Z28/TA

KYB - GR2 combo, or GR2 front and gas-a-just rear. These are a good inexpensive upgrade over stock. What I run, FWIW.
Tokico - apparently about the same as KYB, perhaps a bit better.

Bilstein, Koni, etc - Race, or hardcore street use.

I think for you, KYB GR2/Gas-a-just is just right.

Poly bushings all around is pretty cheap, and will help your car handle the best, $ for $ of anything. Heck, it's one of my favorite upgrades on the car, not even suspension-wise.

Yes, SFC's are defenitely one of the next things I need to do. I have a long list, with limited money though.

I will defenitely look into the KYB's. What exactly do you mean by gas-a-just? Are they adjustable struts?

They do exactly that. I don't know the range of the adjustability, but it gives you a few levels to play with. As you see in my sig, I have my suspension pretty much done, just needing a few more parts.

Nice. How are they adjusted? Is there a controller to use, or do you adjust them before install? They sound a little pricey, what did you spend on yours?

BTW, your car is freaking nice.

I don't have the adjustable ones although I should have. I just have the KYB GR-2's all around. I haven't driven the car yet as it's been in the shop for most of the summer but I can tell you the way it handles/drives after this weekend. I get the car back on Friday so I'll be able to test the new suspension. Thanks for the compliment, check out the cardomain site?

They're cheap.
gas-a-justs are only available as shocks, they don't make the struts for our cars.
They are self adjusting, nothing you can do about it.
