Camaro, SS Hood, TBI Strut Brace....

I have the ASCD SS hood on my camaro and just installed Edelbrocks TBI strut brace and now I have a dilema. The hood hits the right and left wheel well mounting brackets. Just wondering if anyone else ran into this mess, if you can give me the 411 on what to do or what I can do, it would be appreciated. I know I should have checked for clearance prior to intalling, but the eagerness to put it on, out weighed the thought process, but wont happen again.

Try flipping the brace over. Make sure the mounts are on the proper side of the car.

I have the TPI one, and had to file the top of the braces down. File the bolt heads down on top. And even notch the under side hood pan. I used a rubber gasket for trim so it looks clean.

I didnt want to give up either the hood or the brace. so a little work and they fit great.

Thats to bad the brace really is a must have. with the subframe connectors it really lets the suspension do its job. The front will wonder with out it. Even with new parts. The towers flex even at low speeds. I rebuilt everything on mine its still felt floaty. Added the brace and it was a whole new car.

The area you have to notch doesnt effect the strength of the hood any ways. And the way its designed in two pieces it pulls air from the scoop and flows thru to the area where its notched. So it helps keep the underhood temps down even more.

And it looks kinda cool to me when the hood is up. Having the openings there.
