Email campaign for 17 and 18 inch GTA rims

Hawks (board sponsor) had considered the idea of producing 17 inch GTA rims in the past. Personally, I want a set of 18 inch rims.

If we all start sending them emails regarding our interest in these wheels, I think they'll go through with it.

17 inch epsilons just aren't "deep dish" like the originals, that's what turned me off to them. I personally don't think they're big enough either.

I think we should insist on stock backspacing (front and rear) and rim weight equal to or (preferably) less than that of the original rim. The rims should also be able to accommodate our center caps.

Thanks!
Bill

While I think this is a good idea, I don't think you'll have a chance at getting enough demand for them. You would prolly need several hundred pre-orders for a company add them to a product line....

How about accommodating something larger then the stock 10.5inch rotors and single piston Calipers. Thats the one reason i loathe GTA rims.

I really don't think a 17-18" gta rim would look all that great, might even look to getto

You know, it really would't be all that big of a deal. All someone would need is someone to produce the centers. Once that's done, they could be mated to pre-existing hoops in a variety of widths and back spaces.

Look at the email campaign to get the T/A Performance 9 bolt differential cover made. it took a lot of effort, but it got done, and there isn't a very big market for that part.

I agree. I think the problem with Epsilons, or any other similar-styled wheels, is that the center isn't as "full" of the honeycomb, if that makes sense.

I wouldnt mind a 17*9.5 GTA rim.

I do agree going past a 17(I would have to see an 18 so im reserving judgement)
would prolly look awkward to nasty.

But being able to step up an inch and gain the width would be seriously sweet.

Make a corner carving sleeper look lol

I think 18's would look fine. Look at all of the BMW wheels like the Rondell 58. They look good all the war from 16" to 19"

Still, if no 18s, 17 x 9 front, 17 x 10.5 rear would be very cool.

Thanks for the feedback. Has anyone actually taken the time to email Hawks?

I think 17x9 would be fine for most people. I mean how wide do 17" tires get?

Also, for the center caps, couldn't we just re-use the stock peice? This would make it easier to produce.

I dunno. Just a thought.

I would love a set of 17" GTA wheels in charcoal.
