Re: spring cutting time!!!!!!!!

Cut 1/4 coil at a time, no more. Try it out then cut more if you need to. Trust me on this.

Re: spring cutting time!!!!!!!!

1/2 coil will give you are a 1-1.25" drop with Iroc springs. It'll be less with Z28 springs since they are taller and softer. Maybe 0.75" But the spring rate will probably be too soft for the drop

Re: spring cutting time!!!!!!!!

I thought he said he was cutting lowering springs? Which would obviously mean aftermarket.

If so, then your calculations will be inaccurate. The spring rates are much different.

Re: spring cutting time!!!!!!!!

mm yeah didnt see that. it will be more since they are a stiffer, shorter spring.

do 1/4 coil and try that.

Re: spring cutting time!!!!!!!!

You do not have it seated properly up top. You have to twist it just right to fit in the upper pocket.

Re: spring cutting time!!!!!!!!

I just recently cut my front ws6 springs. I figured a stock ws6 car should have tighter springs and a lower ride height. But that clearly wasn't the case with my car! Look at the picture of my car under my profile. It sat like an SUV! So I cut almost a full coil of each spring. I don't have the motor in yet so I can't tell where it's gonna sit exactly. I installed Lakewood 70/30 strut's, new strut mount's, all poly bushing's in the a arms, and all moog steering parts. When I push down on the front end... It feels super tight! Hopefully I did this all right. We shall see soon!

Re: spring cutting time!!!!!!!!

i cut one coil and it dropped it where the sprng shoulda been in the first place,it finally looks sexy. btw stay away from tenzo lowering springs! that is what i have and you could fit your hand between the tire and fender with ease.
