spring isolator question

i searched and couldn't find anything.

i'd rather have poly rear spring isolators for my 83 bird but i cant find any.

my question is: will the rear spring isolator from a 1967-88 Chevelle, El Camino, Monte Carlo fit on my Firebird? (p/n 311-7-1706-BL from prothane- $6.99 from jegs)

if not i need the height and width measurements off the F-body ones so i can see if they have a universal one in that size.

any help would be AWESOME since i've been trying to find something for weeks.....thanks.

p.s. if all else fails i'll just go to the local pontiac dealer and get the (4th gen) stock ones.

FYI. According to Ed Miller, resident board brake guru, the fourthgen isolator will raise the rear end of the car.

Re: spring isolator question

If it doesn't matter to you that the fourthgen isolators are taller, why be concerned about measurements?

Re: spring isolator question

b/c i would like to get poly ones instead of the rubber and if th monte carlo ones wont fit i'd like to see if they have a "universal" one in the same size as the f-body ones.

I bought two GM PART # 10290379 rear spring isolators from GM Parts direct. They are overall about an inch taller than the 3rd Gen isolators, but have an equally deeper pocket that the spring sits in, so there is no change in ride height. I measured the wheel well gap before and after installation and my car sat at the same height as with the original spring isolators.
