hill climb, road racing slicks

i did a search looking for info about road racing slicks..i didnt find much help but i went ahead and bought a set of slicks for road racing ... OMG ... they made a world of differance. i improved my time by 15 seconds + on a 1.9 mile course. so if your wondering if its worth it... tighten your seat belts cause its gonna get wild..... tao

Proper tires, no matter what type of racing you do, will always make a big difference. I did a rookie school for driving a Legends race car. Small race cars that look like 30's and 40's cars but use a motorcycle engine. They all ran the same spec tires designed just for them. The cars would turn on a dime at and speed.

I've seen cars at the dragstrip with oval track slicks. Although they're better than a street tire, the rubber compound isn't designed for drag racing and when proper tires are used, the cars ran even better.
