Got sway bars from Pull A Part
I just got front and rear sway bars from a 88 Z28 from Pull A Part and I know the rear is 24mm but keep getting different measurements for the front in different places. It is a hollow bar and had an extra bar attached to the sway bar that bolted where the bushings bolts. I just can';t tell if its a 34MM or a 36MM and don't know what size bushings to get to replace them. The factory bushing that I took with the bar has this stamped in them, "clevite 9" then under that it has FG on one side and 81283T on the other . I have done a search and cant find what size this bushing is anywhere on the web. I am using a crescent wrench to measure with and get different sizes in different places. Also what is this other bar that attaches to the bushing bolts called?

ok I got one of those digital calibers from Auto Zone and it says the front was just as you said 34 front and 24 rear. Its actually a little over this size but figured the paint made it off by a little. now two last questions when getting the bushings for the front I see they have 33MM and 35MM bushings, which ones should I get for the 34MM bar, the 35MM? and should I get 24MM for the rear even though it was a little bit larger than 24Mm or should I get 25Mm bushings for it?

Measure where the bushings attach. That's the part you're concerned about fitting into the bushings anyway. If you don't have a micrometer take it by a parts store and borrow the one they've got behind the counter.

I do have a micrometer now and it is a 34MM but not sure if i should get the 33Mm or the 35MM bushings for it since energy suspension doesn't seem to have 34MM bushings

If you have the 34/24 bushing, purchase the correct size:

Re: Got sway bars from Pull A Part
alright then, the bar is 34 or a little over everywhere except for where the bushings go, there one side is 31.6 and the other is 32.2 and there is no paint in this area. Do I get 32mm bushings?

Re: Got sway bars from Pull A Part
anyone have an opinion? Do I get 32MM since thats the size where the bushings go, or do i get 34MM since thats the size of the bar everywhere else?

Re: Got sway bars from Pull A Part
I'd probably go with 34, but that's me.
