squeaky sfcs ??

has anyone else experienced a lot more squeaks AFTER they've installed sfcs?

I guess its winter now, and that could be an outside factor, but both me and my brother installed sfc's a few months ago, and both of our cars are squeaking.

Mine squeaks like mad, but I attribute some of it to my poly bushings. But we both hear similar sounds at the base of our doors & perhaps T-Tops.

Because we used similar subs, and installed them using the same technique, I would like some outside input as to if this is common. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions to fix it?

sfc's should cut down on noise since it makes everything stiffer ,less movement.

are they bolt ins? that may be the problem if they are. weld in type should make everything stonger and reduce squeeks.

1. They were weld-ins (only way to go).

2. Nothing else changed/replaced after installation.

I agree that some parts could/should be replaced due to excessive wear, but the problem wasn't there before, now is. Sounds kinda fishy to me. The thing is, its in both of our cars (mine and my brothers). Could we have done something wrong? I doubt it. We have a pretty good clue about our cars. ??? I was just wondering if the new stiffness could cause a squeak somewhere? Sounds kinda backwards, I know. But this is annoying/confusing.

Replace the upper door hinges, and the squeaks will go away. But replacing these hinges is not for the faint of heart. They are a real bitch.
By the way. If anyone is interested? I may have finally solved the third gen "upper door hinge" problem permanantly. You can now do both sides in an afternoon. Just thought I'd pass it along.

Cool. I think I will change those hinges.

But here's another thing... sometimes when I sit in the car, door open (not moving), I hear the undercarrage squeak. This can only be coming from the subframe area. Could there be a rubbing? I know I'd have to look for myself. Something is up. I guess I'm the only person to experience such aggrivation.

Anymore basic ideas of how to get rid of those pesky squeaks? Does winter make poly bushings squeak more?

What about your the front bushings in your LCA's. When you welded your SFC's to the LCA mounting bracket you may have burnt the grease off or burt the rubber if you welded while they were connected. Check to see if the bushings are lubed enough. I bet that is your problem.
