I found it in the newspaper, and picked it up for $800. Moser Engineering, Strange Engineering and Currie Enterprises makes them. They cost anywhere From $2000 to $3000. I wouldn't recommend it though, cause you'll have to deal with the some **** that I am now. Without the sway bar you will get excessive wheelhop. I even added the Hotchkis Rear Suspension package and it only helped a little. A 12-bolt rear will accept the stock sway bar so its probably a better choice, I'm Probably going to pick one up soon and sell the 9-inch.

I've heard that Steve Spohn is making the sway bar mounts for the 9 inch converted 3rd gens. I also have a Moser 9 inch in mine and I haven't been able to mount the sway bar either because I haven't found anyone that makes the right mount for the axle tubes.
Rusty,
It cost me around 1700 for my conversion, and that's with all new prebuilt center section with Auburn and 3.50 gears from DTS....still a lot cheaper than the 12 bolt kits.

Yes, we build an installation kit to mount a stock type sway bar on the Ford 9" rear.

Steve,
I dont see that kit on your website. Do you have a picture, and how much do they run?
IrocZZ3,
Do you get wheel hop too? A few people told me that the sway bar might not even be the problem.

I don't have any wheel hop, but I still would like to put back my sway bar. I've heard that it should help plant the tires better, but I won't know til I get the thing on there. I'll definitely have to look into Steve's install kit.

You guys are refering to forward bite related wheel hop? I have been running a 9 inch without the bar, with solid bushing control arms and a Traclink, and have never had a forward bit wheel hop issue. However, I need to correct a tendancy for the rear to hop sideways in hard cornering. There is quite a bit of roll in the rear and it is upsetting the overall balance of the car. It is very difficult to keep the car from just pushing at the limits, unless large amounts of power are used which is more power than I have for moderate/high speeds. Global West says they have run cars without a rear sway bar. I run springs in the 160 in.lb. range in the rear, and the overall roll induced is quite high. I think it is probably a better deal to inatal the bar with lighter springs than to try and reduce roll be upping the rear spring rates.

What our kit provides:
* Proper diameter and longer length heavy-duty 1/2" u-bolts
* Proper diameter heavy duty MIG welded u-bolt saddles
* Tubular mild steel spacers MIG welded to saddles
* Proper length end link sleeves (DOM)
* Proper length end link bolts and hardware
What our kit does is space the sway bar below the torque arm mounting pad. It includes the proper diameter u-bolts and saddles, and their heavy duty construction matches the abuse they will take on your new heavy-duty rear. The supplied longer length end link sleeves, bolts, and hardware provide for proper geometry to be maintained at the sway bar's new mounting location.
Due to the larger diameter u-bolts required for the sway bar installation, your stock sway bar bushings can not be used. You will need to use polyurethane bushings that have the large, slotted, universal mounting holes. Energy Suspension and Prothane polyurethane sway bar bushings do the trick.
The kit is available in bare steel ready for you to paint, or you can get it with a durable, brilliant, powder coated finish to make things look really trick!
Part #901M: $65.00 (bare)
Part #901P: $85.00 (powder coated)
