Is it my fault or theirs

I recentle rebuilt my front end: rod ends, ball joints, LCA bushings, struts and idler arm. I never removed the pitman arm or the center link. I just got it alligned yesterday and I realized that the wheel only turns about 1 1/8 turns to the left, and over 1 1/2 to the righht. I brought it back and they said it was because I didnt center the steering gear. I never removed or adjusted it so I don't see why it would need centered again. When I picked the car up the guy said "you know your steering wheel is upside down?" But actually I installed it vertically instead of horizontally. I think he set it straight, realized it waas wrong, then set the wheel upside down without checking it, and then started to align it please tell me if I need to call the Gen Manager and raise hell. Thanks

So at some point you removed your steering wheel and re-installed it crooked?

That alignment job's their fault. Yeah you might've thrown them off with your crooked steering wheel, but the front wheels (and pitman arm on the steering box) would tell them what they needed.

Blame whoever didn't put the steering wheel on correctly. Your alignment is probably correct.

What makes the wheel stop turning? The gear in the box or something else. Can I disconnect something and put the wheel in the right position? Please give any help you can.

The gear box has internal stops. Remove the steering wheel, adjust the gear box to the center, and reinstall the steering wheel.
