Ride height survey - how low is your car?

If I measure from the ground to the top of the wheel arch, I get:
Front: 695mm [
Rear: 710mm
This is a stock '85 Z28 with 245/50/16 in front and 255/50/16 out back.
If I use the Jamex springs, it will lower the car by 1.5" [38mm]. That will make it about 655mm at the front. Too low??

sorry i only know that stuff in inches....my ride height is 7 inches at the front center bumper and about 4 inches at the little plastic thingy underneath....and ive got about a inch between the wheels and the fender lip w/ 245/50-16's all the way around
i was thinking about lowering my car about a 1/2 to 1 inch but nobody sells springs like that oh well..........

695mm works out to be 27.4" in the front. If I lower it to 26", is it gunna be too low? Am I gunna hit every curb in town?

Keep in mind that 1.5 inch drop doesn't mean your car will drop 1.5 inches. Your car might be sagging a little from old springs, or just a little bit lower than most third-gens and you could end up with a 1 inch drop. Or, it could be the other way and your car could sit higher than a typical third-gen and you could get a 1.75 drop. Every car is a little bit different. With drop springs "results may vary"

My measurements: 26-1/16" (662 mm) f, 26-5/8" (676.28 mm) r. Measured at the center line of the rims to the fender lip. 90 Camaro RS Convertible with less than 1 year old Eibach Pro-Kit springs. Also keep in mind that even though you will have lower ride height you may scrape about the same as you do now. These springs are a lot stiffer than stock ones. So there is less weight transfer forward under hard braking. I scrape no more than I did before with my old tired sagging 10 year old stock RS springs. Also replacing the shocks and struts with good aftermarket ones (Bilstein or Koni) will help with this as well. I have Bilstein HD. Good luck, Lon.

Car: 1982 Z28
Engine: LS1
Transmission: T56
Front: 26 7/16"
Rear: 27 1/4"

The fronts are Moog part# 5662 with 3/4 of a coil removed.

Rears are stock '82 progressive-rate crap that came on it, they hook like a mother in the corners so why change a good thing?
