To anyone who ever pulled their ebrake before...

Does your back end fly out? Cause I finnally adjusted it and yet the back still doesnt fly out! I pull it hard and nothing happens. I just slow down. No chirp no nothing. Has anyone who ever pulled their eb ever chirped or anything? Dammit! Thanks.

Against my better judgement, I pulled mine at about 45 mph for some unknown reason and jerked the wheel a little. Needless to say, she swung out hard, a few times. I cleaned my underwear and went back to see the skid marks crossing the center line about three or four times. Otherwise, at slower speeds, I can do a 180 and park at the same time. It's fun, but curbs and trees are hard, so be careful. You just have to yank it pretty hard.

Thanks for the replys. Maybe I have to adjust it again or something. ANyways I have found out one way to fly out the back end. I just stutter cut it (turn back and forth to cause weight transfer), then I slam the brakes and pull the e. And the back end slides out. Then I have to let off the brake, put downt the ebrake. Counter and then play with the gas. And BOOM! Dorifto! I wish I could have had more practice. The turn was by houses so they came one guy came out and kicked us out. Damn....

Jeeeeeezus!!....You guys are damn silly doing crap like that.

anyway, You should be able to pull your PARKING.....I stress PARKING brake, up to about a 45° angle when it's adjusted correctly (there is an actual click number, but I can't remember it right now). Go back under there and tighten it a bit more, and you should be lookin' good.

Most thirdgen parking brakes don't work too well, but it's really not that difficult getting things to work right. a can of penetrant on the cable adjusters and then wrenching on the cable adjuster, and possibly some playing with the tensioner levers on each caliper tends to get things working pretty good.

One word of caution....Don't over tighten your cables, or you're going to end up with constant brake drag. not good for pads, rotors, mileage or performance.

k, ive pulled it up to about 55,
just hold tight, so that way you wont be enden up in a ditch. MAKE SURE YOU USE IT BEFORE PULLIN, because there has been cases where it wasnt used at all, so then it locks up. and rust, etc etc. so be careful guys, try it in a parking lot before deciding to pull a 180 on two way street.

Think about if there were children playing near those houses! You're so upset because someone yelled at you, think how upset you'd be if you killed someone. You win the prize for "Honorary Idiot of The Day"

Go to a track to do silly stuff like that. don't disrespect people!

I would have done more than "kicked you out"

Well I wasnt atcually mad casue he kicked us out. ANyways yea I would feel like **** if I killed someone. But the thing is it was orginized. My friends were hanging out by the turn with walkie talkies. So if someone was coming then they would tell me. Also I was kinda far from the houses. Also its like 3:30am what the hell are kids doing out at 3 in teh morning? I know how you feel. But we are safe when we do these things. We have lookout people who will spot anyone coming. So that we dont cause any accidents. But our own. We do it in areas not by houses. The houses were down teh road. Maybe allilte less than a 1/4 mile. So thats pretty far for people to be out.

hey,

I guess I'll take back my idiot of the day award since it sounds like you were being pretty responsible. Did you ACTUALLY have radios? that's funny. still, if you can see the houses from where you're doing it, folks are going to get mad (ESPECIALLY when you're tearing around at 3 am!).

Keep playing it safe

this reminds me of a gravel parking lot near my house, its at the end of an industrial park....we used to go there at all hours and tear around, doing donuts and whatever...only stay for a minute tho because it borders a few houses and it would suck if someone called the cops. it's fun as hell...but i havent been back there in about a year (since i bought my third gen...my NICE third gen that is)

since we're telling stories...

I've NEVER had more fun for money spent than blasting around in my friend's back 40 (40 acres of grass field) in a toyota carolla purchased for $20 with NO ROOF!

my ribs would hurt for a week after laughing so hard while hot lapping the car on our ~1 mile dirt/grass roadcourse (ralley style!)

what's even more fun? TWO CARS! it more than doubles the fun (more than doubles the danger involved too)
