Which 4th gen rear susp takeoffs fit 3rd gen

SLP has great deals on take off shocks, springs, LCA's and Panhard bars. I intend to freshen up the rear end of my car as my next major project on it. My user name describes the car pretty well. I have a few questions

Is my understanding correct that the 4th gen take off shocks fit 3rd gens correct?

Is my understanding correct that the 4th gen take off springs fit 3rd gens correct?

Will 4th gen rr springs be a stiffer spring than my 3rd gen springs (I hope,I hope).

Is my understanding correct that the 4th gen take off LCA's fit 3rd gens correct?

My idea on the LCA's is to push out the rubber bushings and press in some poly bushings and have them ready to bolt up(maybe even reinforced as well).

Thanks in advance for sharing your expertise on this guys.

Mike

4thgens have the SAME rear suspension design except for the fact that the rears are about 2" wider on each side. The 4thgen spring would probably be better than the one you got since you don't have a WS6 or a IROC.

Wouldn't being two inches longer move the shock mounts to different locations? What is the difference between stock 4th gen shocks and 3rd gen WS6 shocks?

4th gen rear suspension pieces are identical to 3rd gen stuff. But 4th gen front suspension pieces are totally different and will not fit. That means rear springs, rear shocks, LCA's, PHR, and torque arm are interchangeable, while the front springs and shocks are not.

I thought I read somewhere that the mounting points on the 4th gen were differen't for the shocks and springs... the rest should interchange fine, but you may want to double check the springs and shocks, besides there are better aftermarket springs and shocks available, and you'd want all four springs to be matched.

nope. you can bolt a 4thgen rear right in if you wanted to use 4thgen, or C4 and C5 Vette rims without spacers in the rear. You'd still need spacers in front though.

The extra width on the fourth gen axle is at the VERY end, past all the mounting points. All the 4thgen rear suspension stuff should bolt in fine.

So, if I want to put 2001 WS6 springs and shocks in my 84 Firebird it would be little to no trouble?
