Can't imagine... there aren't any "bearings" in the rear suspension... also nothing greasable...

You might try a can of spray silicone on each of the suspension bushings until you find whatever is squeaking. There are 4 control arm bushings, 2 Panhard bar bushings, 2 stabilizer bar center bushings, and 4 stab bar end-link bushings.

Go around turns. The rear wheel bearings rely on the gear lube sloshing around in the rear end for lubrication. Squeaking doesn't sound like a bearing problem though, it sounds more like you have a brake or suspension problem. When bearings go you usually hear/feel a grinding sound. If you do need to change a wheel bearing, heres the procedure:

1.)Jack the car up, remove the wheel and brake drum, and pull the diff cover to drain the fluid.

2.)Remove the pinion cross shaft retaining bolt (5/16") from the diff carrier, and remove the pinion cross shaft.

3.) Push the axle inwards and catch the c-clip when it falls out.

4.) Using a slide hammer, pull the old seal and bearing. Install the new bearing with the old one or with a bearing driver (big socket works.) Install the seal flush with the end of the housing.

5.) Slide the axle back in, put the c-clip in and pull the axle outwards to seat the clip. Slide the pinion cross shaft back in and put some blue loctite on that bolt and torque it to 20 ft. lbs.

6.)Put your brake drum and wheel back on, and using a new gasket, reinstall the diff cover. Fill it up with some new lube and take it for a spin.

I like to put a bunch of lube inside the new bearing also, and a little bit on the seal. Check the axle for wear and clean up the seal area so you don't fry the new seal up. Good luck.

3.)

Sounds like you need new rear brakes.

Stephen's correct, all you need is a simple brakejob.

Slow down around those corners and the rear passenger won't have to squeal! LOL
