Squeaky Noise from KYB shocks

Squeaky Noise from KYB shocks
I had the rear shocks changed last week with new KYB and now the left side makes this squeaky noise when I drive the car or when I push the rear end down and up. It sounds like a bird singing and I hate it. Anyone has had this problem before? is the shock bad or is there any worn part that does it? Any clues?

I just installed KYB’s and my one rear corner is doing the same thing. What did you find out is the fix?

Guys, I had the same issue with my KYB AGX units - the fix is to use silicone based grease and lube the upper rubber mounts. Sounds perverted, but I lubed the shaft, the hole, the flat surfaces with a silicone grease intended for disc brakes etc., and the squeeking went away and hasn't come back yet.

have kyb agx on rear. they squeak like a somebitch. I greased them and they stopped for a while. when they started I retightened them and they stopped for a while. now they are at it again. I will retighten them again. will never buy them again.

Beats replacing them with something else unless you just want to.

Guys, it's not the shock, its the rubber. You can replace that with every other rubber you can find, you can even use the old ones if you like :-) What I found is that the bottom part of the shock ist realy bolted down tight. There is almost no play like on older bigger rubber style shocks. Therefore there is more movement transferred to the shock which is actually good because it's precise but the rubber has to absorb that. As said by others use a good, most preferably marine grade, lubricant. Marine grade lubricant can't be washed away and withstands humidity and water a lot better.... Or you can use old style rubbers instead of polys ;-) PU tends to squeak a lot. I have this annoying squeaks also on another car were I used non-greasable PU mounts for the A-arms... driving me nuts and I have to take them apart now and grease them up.
