All spindles are the same, though the 1LE version has the ears cut off to accommodate larger rotors and dual piston alum calipers. Your 88 would have standard rotors (10.5") and Delco-Moraine calipers (iron).Originally Posted by go88iroc

They are not. The bearing for the IROC rotor are a little larger than the standard Camaro, but the spindle is the exact same.

The standard 10.5" rotors, iron Delco-Moraine calipers, and bearings are the same for all thirdgen cars, to include IROC's. Different story for the 1LE's.Originally Posted by Drkhrse89

they are all the same design, later ones hada thicker casting in places, but all the attachment points are the same. Only cars with the 1le performance brakes had modified spindles and larger bearings.
your 88 has the standard spindles and bearings.

That's odd, because when I did the LS1 brake swap I didn't use my rotors for the hubs and used a non-IROC rotor. When I went to put in the wheel bearings they did not fit because I bought ones for an IROC. I went back and got a set for a standard Camaro and they fit perfect.

My guess is that the counter man gave you the 1LE version, which wouldn't fit.Originally Posted by Drkhrse89

The A6 inner bearing is common to both the standard rotor and the 1LE.
The A3 outer bearing, which the 1LE uses, has a larger OD than the standard A34 bearing. If you had the larger bearing, you had the 1LE.

Now I cannot argue with the counter guy screwing it up. I can guarantee I did not have 1LE brakes, if I did I would not have gone to the LS1 brakes. Thanks for the insight.
