Front end rebuild parts - brand to use???
Doing a front end build and was wondering if anyone has heard of this brand XRF?
Stumbled across a couple positive posts on the web and it sounds like good stuff. Million mile warranty........really? Thoughts?

Debating about sticking with moog or trying something different. Thanks

I definitely like what I read on that site. Sounds like a company that truly cares about producing a top quality product. Moog and other similar companies are just re-creating a stock design most of the time, and this company re-designs them to increase their performance and durability. I'm now interested as well

Really? I didn't see anything technically relevant on that website.
I'd stick with Moog. Moog frequently redesigns short comings on OEM parts. They are not simply OEM knockoffs.

Re: Front end rebuild parts - brand to use???
Hmm....i'm no engineer but I found a number of things that appealed to me. Yes some of it was just their marketing or statements that they made, such as, they designed their parts from examining all the warranty parts, determining what caused the failure and then re-created it to be stronger. The million mile warranty. They say that their products are a lower friction than the competition which is something to be desired when talking steering inputs etc. All studs either fit an allen in the end or are hexed at the top to help with tightening. Some of these just seem steps above and beyond what others are doing that they dont necessarily have to do, but the fact that they did, expresses greater commitment to their product in my opinion. Then there were factual remarks such as: "XRF uses SAE1045 and SAE4140 steel on these parts to give greater strength and durability. OEM stud pull-out specification is >2550kg, while XRF stud pull-out tests at >4520kg" They went on to say stock tie rod studs move 22 degrees while they have re-designed theirs to travel 23. Their idler arms are forged as opposed to cast like stock pieces. etc etc etc
Again i'm no engineering expert and maybe I was caught up in their marketing trickery but at the same time...I feel they do provide some factual, statistical evidence that at least has me interested.
I have not used these and cannot give you the opinion you were looking for, I was just appreciative of seeing a new product that looks promising. I'd be interested in feedback as well
edit: Also, something about the sites lack of fancy check outs / shopping carts and overall modern flare gives me a good feeling. That leads me to belive its not all marketing gimmicks for them and that they let their product do the talking. Just my opinion though

Did you get a price from XRF on the entire rebuild kit? Looking for the right one myself.

Those are really good prices. Full rebuild for slightly over $200. Please post about the quality of them if you buy them, as I'm interested to hear how they are.

Dont experiment with lower quality parts and go with parts known to last and ones that carry a lifetime warranty.
+1 for Moog.

I went with the higher quality NAPA steering parts (they have two lines - select the more expensive version) These apparently are manufactured by DANA and are beefier than stock.
