In need of a longer bump stop
heres my issue

if i hit a large enough bump the tire will hit the lip of the fender, i have kyb agx shocks in the back and have them as stiff as they will go, i also have a few rubber springs spacers in but im still having the same problem. anyone know were i can get slightly longer bump stops?

Better fitting wheels?
you can unbolt the factory stops, make some spacers as long as you need them and bolt back on, but its a band aid for for another problem.
What size are the tires? Are they stock height?

Re: In need of a longer bump stop
Looks like ya got a mismatch there son...
Base-model no-option non-performance car w 4th gen rear w the OE teeny tiny 3rd gen 15" wheels on it?
Regardless of the details of the mismatch, the solution is to cure the mismatch, not hack something to "compensate" for it.

Bets thing to do then is fix the stupid wheel choice problem; not hack on the car to force it to submit to the idiot's mistake.

another angle, if you change the bump stop location, you will loose some suspension travel and depending on conditions slamming the bumpstop can cause you to lose control.

Going off of that, are the springs old, new springs that are cut or lowering springs? I would get different wheels personally. You can get used wheels from a fourth gen or corvette for cheap now a days. Chicago craigslist has them with decent tires for $400-600 all day. just an example. I think there are two sets on our classifieds right now. Just use spacers and make sure the tire sidewall matches the overall wheel size.

longer bump stops.. check out lakewood, they have them. you will make the plate they will bolt to.. almost 3inch tall.
you can also roll your fender lip. tool wll rent for $50.
or you can go with a smaller tire like alot of the street drivers do. like a 275 60 15.
its whats on my ss truck all the way around.

Re: In need of a longer bump stop
Does it look like this on both side? If it's only like that on the driver's side, you need an adjustable panhard bar. If it looks that way on both sides, I would say that you need to roll your fenders, change your bump stops, or change your wheels.
Re: In need of a longer bump stop
I actually had a very complex setup where I used Koni shaft style progressive bumpstops on my rear Konis and rode on them once I got 1 1/8" travel. It is very complex to get into the entire setup I did on that car but I had to shim them to get the height I wanted witht he progressive wheel rate I desired. I also combined all of this with a massive rear 25mm swaybar, Koni Yellows on full rebound, and progressive rate rear coils. TO keep the rear from leaping out on you in mid steadystate, the car was setup to induce massive roll understeer with trailing arms almost 1 " shorter than stock and a massive rodend on the front torque arm to handle the strain
But yes I rode on bumpstops in corners on purpose with the Koni 3" tall progressive units and I never got more than about 2 1/4" total travel out of the rear suspension at any time.

Re: In need of a longer bump stop
well... keeping it simpl.
i would bet your pasngr side is tucked in a bit more then the side shown.
and a adjustbl pan rod would do alot to fix the prob you have
rolling the fender would fix anything the pan rod left over.
i would look close at a adjsbl pan rod. first.
