center link on right or wrong?
I have been rebuilding my front end and re-installing everything back and I put the center link back what i thought was the right way but know that I am looking at it and a few picks of other cars it seems to be backwards. My question is does it matter which way it sits their seems to be full range of steering? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: center link on right or wrong?
Here is a pic of my newly installed center link. I am the second owner of the car and have owned it since it had 67,000 miles. I believe that it had the factory original bar. I replaced it in exactly the same position with all new components and it is angled forward and up. I believe that if it were angled backwards and down it would hit the oil pan. I'll look for some internet pictures to see if I can confirm I am correct, but for the last ten years that I had owned the car with the bar like that it steered fine and had been aligned.

I guess that's a better description.
The tie rod nuts will be on the front side of the centerlink. I know mine is flipped around to get a little more clearance because I have my engine lowered and the tie rod nuts are on the backside. I'm not worried about the Ackerman angle since the only turns I do are at the end of the dragstrip.

Looks like a few pictures here that have the bar as I described mine: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/susp...-swap-any.html

Re: center link on right or wrong?
No but my car also isn't street driven. Mine is flipped over and like the above post says, it allows more engine clearance. I have my engine sitting as low as it can go. My header tubes wrapping around the front suspension actually keep me from dropping it down a little more. One tube also wraps over the right frame rail. I'd love to drop the front of the engine at least another inch but that would mean a custom made set of headers.
As I mentioned above, flipping it over may change the Ackerman angle. That's when the inside tire turns sharper the the outside tire. Since my drag car turns very few corners, it's not something that affects me. I also have 27.5" tall front tires so I installed some different steering stops to keep the tires from hitting the inside fenders. This reduces my turning radius.

Re: center link on right or wrong?
My car is a DD but when I did the ls swap the a/c was very close so I flipped it for more room. I've never had a problem with it but if your car doesn't need the extra space I would but it back like it goes.

Nice and interesting to know! But, yeah, I don't need the room so I plan on keeping mine in the stock position.

Re: center link on right or wrong?
That's what was wrong on mine. I replaced the idler, got a front end alignment, and no more shake. Good luck
