Front sway bar clamps/brackets.
Front sway bar clamps/brackets.
Does anyone know where to purchase new front sway bar clamps/brackets/clam-shells? I'm not sure what the correct name is for them but it's the metal piece that holds the rubber bushings to the frame. I've been searching all over and can't find them with the correct offset bolt holes on the one side, they are all symmetrical holed.
Thanks!

If you buy the Energy Suspension ones, and maybe some of the others such as Prothane, they come with nice new better than OE brackets. Kind of a no-brainer in that way.

I don't believe Energy Suspension makes the correct brackets with offset bolts for the front of our cars. I haven't ran across anyone that makes correct offset ones anymore.
UMI (and others too I imagine) make relocation brackets to convert them to standard/universal inline type:

Pretty ugly, but here's a pair on eBay if you just need some because yours are missing:

Top Down Solutions Sells the Front in Rear with new brackets or just bushings. They are offset just like stock.

Re: Front sway bar clamps/brackets.
Thanks guys, from what I can see of the ES ones, the holes aren't in the right spots since our cars have the offset holes on one side. The TDS ones are correct but the price is kind of high and the shipping charges seem high too at $56 combined. I guess if you're the only supplier left you can charge whatever you want.

???
The ES ones have always fit my car (83 L69 Z28)... even with a wonder bar on it now... not sure what the problem is? Could you maybe drill another hole in it?

Re: Front sway bar clamps/brackets.
Unless this offset bolt deal is year specific, the only way to install universal/inline ones is to force them in crooked. Maybe it's not crooked enough to matter? Or it just mounts the bar crooked? I helped a friend install a 36mm bar with the ES bushing set, but it took some manhandling to get them both in. Immediately after we finished, we looked and realized the original brackets were offset at one end.
I replaced the bushings on mine but used the factory brackets with stock replacement bushings and it was a breeze in comparison to when we used the ES mounts on his car.

But seriously, nobody is capable of drilling another hole or creating an elongated slot with a rat-tail file anymore???

Re: Front sway bar clamps/brackets.
Of course you can do that, but you have to admit it's pretty ugly if you go and slot the slotted hole (in the ES bracket anyway) into a T. Especially on something you just bought brand new specifically for your car.
Just throw a bigger washer at it so you can't see it I suppose.
