hi every body !
i have instaled a weight jack kit 2 years ago on my camaro 83 and boys that thing ride like a brick , i curently run 19s with 225/35 front 255/45 rear
last month i pu the oem 16s with oem tire and the ride is still the same that mean its not really the tire fault
did some of you with weigh jack change the spring to be more soft ?
the shock are kyb exel or something like that , i cut the bump stop shorter and i have a 1inch spacer on the strut mounting plate so i have 1 more inch travel than oem
I have 1050s front and 200s rear with 275 35 18 up front and 305 30 18 rear. It rides a little rough on lousy roads but not terrible. I think the larger issue is suspension travel. It looks like yours is set pretty low. I do know you can swap out springs and I've heard of people going to 600f and 150r.
This is how mine sits. The rear weight jacks are as low as possible. The front I'm on the fence w going up 1/2 inch to have a little more travel. I feel like my only complaint is I sometimes am hitting the bump stops up front and the car is pretty low. Like speed bumps are an issue. It drives awesome and handles awesome but needs pretty smooth roads. Yours looks about the same hight as mine. 19s aren't helping but like you said, it was an issue w the stock setup also. What kind of road conditions are you feeling the issue?
that's a really clean 83, very cool.

I've run weight jacks on two cars. 850 springs on one, 750 on the other. I wanted to go just a tad softer, and closer to stock than the 850, so Donovan at Ground Control found me some 750's. Ground Control doesn't offer them as an option, but he said I should be ok and not bottom out if I'm not gonna track the car. -and I never bottomed out. Paired with Koni Yellows, it offered a great ride.
FWIW, the rear springs can make a huge difference for performance, and lap times, but since we're discussing ride quality, I won't get into rear springs. I've found than the many different springs I've tried out back, never made a huge difference in "comfort", at least not when compared to the front. Again, performance, yes, little changes, big difference. Comfort?-Not so much.
