I'm sure that there will be a great many who will appreciate this. I'm still undecided whether to laugh at how moronic it is or worry as he's going to kill someone....wouldn't be so bad if it was himself, but it never works out that well.

http://www.rover200.freeserve.co.uk/articles/

Third from the top is the article. Funny doesn't describe it. He starts by saying:

"WARNING This is one of the most dangerous articles I have put together"

And he's not kidding. You just have to see it.

Now, to keep it inline with discussion, do you think it would work? BWAHAHAHA :sillylol: :sillylol: :sillylol:

You can even comment to the "creator of death" in his guest book. Here:

Your comments are appreciated.

He only drilled 4 rows into the rotors. Why even bother?

That's also really smart throwing cold water on hot rotors.....that'll warp really quicky.

I believe madmax did this to one of the rotors on his car to try it out. Drilled something like 39 holes. I think his results were that while it reduced braking force enough to cause the car to pull to the side with the holes, it helped greatly with brake fade when stopping from high speeds.

That is an idiot!!! From what I understand crossdrilling is not really needed these days because the modern pads don't outgas like the older pads did while your braking hard, that's what the holes are for so the gas can escape from under the pad, the holes are not there to cool the rotor.

Sounds like he's just dimpling them, not drilling them all the way through.

I don't think he's trying to do anything with the holes, really. It sounds like a cosmetic effort to me.

You'll notice a weird popping kind of sound when you brake, this is normal and you shouldn't worry.
um..im not quite sure how to respond to this besides: if you hear a wierd popping sound after doing something you probably shouldn't have done it !!!!!

Now I've thought about slotting a set using a professional milling machine but never with drill bits and sand paper.

The cold water on hot brakes takes the award though.

Hahaha!

I didn't realize until I went to the sight and checked it out that he was drilling the rotors while they were still on the vehicle! LOL

that's great! I'll keep that in mind for next time I'm in a hurry to do a "performance modification" but I'm out of cotter pins or don't feel like pulling the caliper .

So that's why the rotors were hot? Aw geez, what an idiot... I hope nobody follows his lead!

I like this one too.

"After testing the brakes they got REALLY hot :-)"

Who would have thought that friction would generate heat? Our kids are going to be hearing about this guys discoveries in their physics class.

i noticed that he has a magnet article too, and how when he attached a magnet to his fuel line, the engine temperature dropped.

Errr, ya. I think I'll run off to the SAE world expo next year and sell the idea to GM, Ford, and DaimerChrysler for a million bucks. They are looking to eke out another 1 MPG out of their fleet in the worst way for CAFE standards, which have actually declined this year for the first time, due to increased SUV sales. If a 99 cent magnet can save their butt, they'll use it!
