JAMEX from eBay arrived today

I bid on the JAMEX ... it arrived UPS today. No instructions but should be easy enough to figure out how to install. Anyone put one on yet?

My little V6 - As performace is kind hard to tell with the wonderbar and subframes installed. But every little bit counts!
BTY - They send me an extra bar. Their goof up. They told me to keep the extra bar

So it DOES fit the V6? Awesome! How tight is the clearance between the bar and the throttle body? How close does the bar come to the hood? I noticed you have your hood insulation removed; is that because of the bar?

Just looking at your installation pictures, and my opinion is it may work on your V-6 with less torque then a 350. But used with a high torque engine that FLIMSY BAR WITH THOSE CRIMPPED ENDS
and only two bolts per side looks VERY, VERY WEAK. I think you got taken on this, however; it looks good even if does not work.

Ya I known they look flimsy. Some one on the V6 board suggested to weld them in place. Not bad for a $30 test. Might have to dig up more money to buy one of thoses Hotchkit bars. It gives us V6 guy some hope. Back to my other project car....

Z28DJP1987 with logic like that I guess every V8 third gen must have really twisted front suspension by now as none came with a stut tower bar . All the bar does is tie the stuts together engine torque has nothing to do with it as I see it

Like I said, the installaltion looks very good, however; bite the bullet and spend the money for the Hotchkis STB. I have used one for the last three years and it really takes the FLEX out of the front end.

the bar is cast aluminum, so the ends are not crimped. Compare the fastener on the brackets to the much smaller bolts holding the strut. Those two large fasteners are all you need. As long as the fasteners are tightened is can't slip. The end brackets are just as beefy as the edelbrock units.

The bar itself does have some flex to it so that might be it's weakness.

BTW did your bar come with the fasteners that hold the end bracket to the strut tower? mine didn't.

Just the bar, ends and the two connectors...
I had the bolts. I was going to make my own strut tower bar

just drill four (two per side) 3/8" holes, buy some nuts and bolts(less that $3) and you are good to go. I put mine in on Tuesday. Don't have pics or results yet. I haven't been able to give it a good test drive yet. I might be able to tomorrow; we'll see.

Later,
Jesse

I got mine on 3/29 but have not had a chance to install it yet. This weekend for sure. Also got my steeringbox brace from thunder racing on 3/18 and put that on a few hours ago. Haven't driven it yet, will find out tomorrow. I haven't logged on in a while, but am glad for the info on the stb install...
